Turkey is often dubbed the meeting point between Europe and Middle East where Christians and Muslims co-exist, you’ll likely find this a beautiful marriage.

Istanbul makes many ‘best’ cities lists – holy prayer calls, Ottoman mosques, a strong literary history, ethereal churches, mixed against a healthy hedonistic scene and cleansing bathhouses. From everything from the battle of Troy to Gallipoli – there has been plenty of war mongering and attempted land grabs, such that Turkey is littered with battles sites and ruins that are worth visiting. The indecisive will revel in Turkey, it’s usual to get a few smaller dishes or a meze (tasting) plate – all of which are tasty. Even the bargain-averse will need to witness at least some of those bazaars to fathom the grandiosity of scale. And when all the delicious food and doses of cultures gets all too much, you can make a beeline to the stunning coastline.
