GUYANA ADVENTURE WITH LAST FRONTIERS

These days usually a country rich in wildlife and stunning scenery is heavy on tourists. Guyana, bordered by Venezuela, Brazil and Suriname, is a wiildlife destination in its infancy, often overlooked in favour of its more popular Amazonian cousins. Expect raw and gritty experiences, topped with a character-filled Caribbean nightlife.

Begin your trip in the colonial city of Georgetown, then journey through rainforest and savannah spending time on a working ranch wrangling cattle before visiting the Kaieteur Falls and returning to Georgetown.

Travel through deepest Guyana and explore this rarely visited country bursting with wildlife, history and adventure.  You will get the opportunity to experience primary rainforest and walk through the canopy as well as meet the local communities.  You will also spend time in the savannah on a working cattle ranch watching real macoy cowboys and try your hand at lassoing. Hit Baganara Island for some beach bum relaxation. The spectacular and remote Kaieteur Falls, which boasts a drop of 225 metres, the highest single drop waterfall in world. A flight over them will blow you away...hopefully not literally.

Last Frontiers operate this adventure year round. The dry seasons (best for wildlife viewing) are February to April and July to November. The rainy season makes for spectacular viewing of waterfalls and the savannah is at its greenest.

This is a rare chance to explore South America's untouched hinterland with Last Frontiers.  The twelve day trip runs for a minimum of two people.
