MICK'S PLACE

There is something quite magical about Mick's Place. Stress seems to dissolve once you wander into this paradise and stare out over the horizon plunge pool towards the beaches below.

Perhaps it is the laid back chilled out nature of Mick himself that shines through like the setting Balinese sun. Whatever it may be Mick's is as good as it gets when it comes to a quick (from Australia), relaxing and relatively cheap escape.

From the incredibly friendly staff serving up delicious food on request to the massages offered at sunset or simply sipping a chilled Bintang beer it is easy to look at the big developed resorts in the far off distance and wonder why you would want to be anywhere else.

Whether it is trying to surf, wandering to Dreamlands for the afternoon or exploring the many bars and restaurants along Bingin Beach there is enough to keep you as active as you want or as inactive as you please.

Oh, and did I mention the food?

The only bad thing is the guilt you feel when settling the bill.

"How could I possible have drank and eaten so much in a week and it only costs this much?"

Mick's Place is a true get lost favourite when it comes to a chilled out escape.

Accommodation Type

There are only six bungalows and they are placed strategically to allow privacy when you need it but also to foster the community feeling that makes Mick's so special. Dining with others squatting around the communal dining table or enjoying the views over dinner in your own privacy are both options.

The bungalows and treehouse are are decorated simply, comfortably and stylishly, maximising the views and surrounds. Huge beds made up daily and large bed fans make sleeping comfortable and electricity points allow some technology when needed.

There are no light bulbs though and your candles are lit each night creating an incredibly peaceful ambience.

The Honeymoon Bungalow however has all mod cons.
